Florens Resort, Oberried am Brienzersee

An ambitious tourism project in a unique setting.

In the Bernese Oberland, Steiner AG is implementing the exclusive Florens Resort project with direct access to Lake Brienz. Most of the resort’s holiday apartments and suites are south-facing and enjoy stunning views of the turquoise lake and the mountains beyond.

A project that will make the Bernese Oberland even more attractive to tourists.

The resort is being developed in such a way as to keep its carbon footprint to a minimum, notably by using lake water for the majority of heating and cooling requirements. In addition, 90% of the resort’s future energy consumption will come from regional hydroelectricity.

Almost half of the approx. 65,000 m2 site is made up of forest and meadowland. This also has a positive effect on the Florens Resort’s carbon footprint.

A total of 18 apartment blocks will be built in Oberried by 2021. These include 155 spacious apartments with one to four bedrooms, plus two restaurants, a spa with a wellness and fitness zone and a heated outdoor swimming pool, private moorings and a kids’ and youth club as well as a boutique with a coffee shop.

Preventing properties from sitting empty will enable resources to be used responsibly and efficiently while at the same time optimising profitability. The planned resort and the resulting new infrastructure will make the entire region more attractive to tourists and thus promote its economic development.
