Baloise has awarded the total contractor (design-and-build) contract for the first major phase of this project to Steiner AG, which is thus responsible for the construction of the high-rise designed by Miller & Maranta. Baloise Park is due to be completed by 2020.
The prime user of the tower, which will be approximately 90 metres high, will be the hotel operator Mövenpick. Baloise will be renting out the top seven floors as attractive office space. The high-rise is being built to a design by Miller & Maranta, the firm of architects that also devised the development plan for Baloise Park.
"Steiner AG's offer convinced us in terms of both quality and economics, and meets the criteria we had defined. We look forward to successful and constructive cooperation with Steiner AG”, says Philippe Fürstenberger, overall project manager and head of construction services at Baloise.
In addition to a 264-room 5-star hotel, conference centre, restaurants and ballroom, the new-build Baloise Park complex will provide space for about 1,300 workplaces. About half of this space will be rented out.
