Tomorrow Steiner AG will, together with its client, the Pension Fund of the Swiss Bar Association (PK SAV) and representatives from the community, will be laying the foundation stone of the "Im Obstgarten" residential development in Oftringen, Canton Aargau. The building site will be transformed into an architecturally striking, high-quality residential development including 63 attractive rental apartments. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2017.
The ceremony on 3 March 2016 will be attended by Steiner AG in its capacity as project developer and total contractor, the Pension Fund of the Swiss Bar Association in its capacity as client, and also representatives from the architects and the community. Worth some CHF 30 million, the project will take shape on a site of over 10,000 m2. Steiner AG has been planning a residential development together with the client since 2013 at the location, which consolidates five former individual plots. On the site with its existing villa, there will be six apartment blocks containing 63 rental apartments, underground parking and a live-in studio.
The "Im Obstgarten" project is a unique combination of a magnificent "Gründerzeit" villa, an historic orchard and a modern residential development. Steiner has over recent months dismantled the existing complex of buildings, known as the "Schopf", and will be re-assembling it elsewhere as a live-in studio. The old and new buildings offer a delightful contrast and will be linked to form an attractive overall concept with the aid of contemporary landscaping. The spatial design idea behind "Im Obstgarten" is a horseshoe shaped arrangement of individual buildings surrounded by generous areas of greenery. These will be interspersed with small social spaces open to the public, with benches and seats on which to linger and chat with neighbours.
The magnificent villa and the live-in studio will be put up for sale.
