Planning permission granted for first phase of the Widacher residential quarter in Fischbach-Göslikon

On entry into legal force of the planning permit, construction work on the Widacher project in Fischbach-Göslikon (Canton Aargau) is set to begin in summer 2022. The first construction phase of this Steiner development project will comprise 16 terraced single-family homes and 42 apartments, built to Minergie certificate standards. The apartments are distributed across three new-build blocks plus an existing listed building.

The planning permission granted by Fischbach-Göslikon municipal council for the Widacher scheme became legally effective at the end of May 2021. In this project, Steiner AG is creating living space for young people and individuals as well as couples, families and seniors. In addition to attractive dwellings, the new district will offer secluded areas for relaxing in plus communal zones for social encounters. “Above all, we have attached great importance to providing well-lit interiors enjoying great views, making the complex an aesthetic, peaceful and relaxing place to live in,” says Stefan Gabriel, team leader at Steiner AG’s Real Estate Development unit. “The apartments are barrier-free and functional, and offer flexible furnishing options. Private and communal gardens will make for a relaxing environment and contribute to the district’s ‘multi-generation living’ approach”.

From industrial site to attractive residential district
This project will transform a former industrial site into a new residential estate on the edge of countryside. Existing heritage buildings, such as a barn and a former post office will be lovingly integrated into the scheme and repurposed as residential and communal amenities. The barn, a listed monument, is an important witness to the past history of the village and the district. It will be carefully refurbished and modernised so that it can properly serve its future purposes. The ground floor will house a crèche and a workshop, while the upper storey will be converted into a communal area where a variety of events can be held.

A major project in three phases
Construction of the first phase of the project is scheduled for summer 2022. The overall project, which will be executed in three phases and is due to be completed by 2032, will eventually comprise 165 residential units in 10 apartment buildings plus 46 terraced single-family homes. According to the masterplan currently in force, the individual planning applications may only be submitted at four-year intervals.

Anyone interested in the apartments, which will be put up for private sale, can already register on the www.widacher-quartier.ch website so that they are promptly informed about the marketing launch.
