Cossonay (Vaud): marketing of apartments and commercial floorspace in the Éolia complex

The future residents of this rural oasis between town and countryside, which is ideally suited as either a home or an investment, will enjoy an exceptional quality of life close to all amenities. This new complex, developed by Steiner SA at Cossonay (Canton Vaud), is also being aimed at local businesses/SMEs.

The modern development is ideally situated on the edge of the agricultural zone and thus enjoys both open views and plenty of sunshine. The project was designed accordingly: the four blocks are arranged in such a way that they enjoy the maximum amount of sunlight. They comprise 67 apartments built to a high standard of fit-out, each of which will boast a private outdoor space (terrace, balcony or garden). Ten or so units will be accommodated in the ground level shopping arcade. The name “Éolia” is inspired by a similar Breton word for “sun”, referring to the development’s sunny location. But it could also be seen as a reference to the wind, as Cossonay used to be home to windmills. Thus it is only natural that sustainable energy should play a significant role in the project.

On track for sustainability

Featuring a contemporary architectural style, the complex is ecologically ambitious. Minergie certification will be sought: the development’s energy concept favours renewable sources combining the use of geothermal probes, heat pumps and photovoltaic panels. Bringing together a community of users will enable the future occupants to derive greater benefit from the renewable energy produced.

They will also enjoy a highly convenient location, as the town of Cossonay is ideally positioned close to major traffic arteries that provide easy access to both the Lake Geneva area and the northern part of Vaud. The Éolia complex is located on the Route de Morges and, in addition to the excellent road access, is very well served by public transport. The commercial areas of the development will be arranged in such a way as to act as soundproofing for the apartments located to the rear. These commercial units, moreover, will be clearly visible from the Route de Morges.

Construction is due to begin in autumn 2021 and is scheduled to take two years. Prospective buyers and other interested persons can find further information at www.eolia.ch
