Planning submission for modern residential complex at Winterthur Neuhegi

Steiner AG is planning a modern residential block housing a total of 80 apartments for private ownership close to Winterthur Neuhegi rail station. The application for planning permission was submitted to the Winterthur city authorities on 25 March 2021. Construction work is due to begin in summer 2022, with completion scheduled for spring 2025.

The “Haus Weiler” project, which is to take shape on a plot covering 3,328 m2, involves the construction of 80 apartments for private ownership. Twelve of these are ground-floor studio flats with private patio gardens, and twelve are top-floor attic apartments with their own roof terraces. The building will conform to Minergie-P standards, with additional energy-efficiency certification. The apartments will suit people of all ages who enjoy surroundings with urban flair that are also close to nature.

Urban setting with high quality of life

Haus Weiler is part of the KIM site, which is located in the vibrant and up-and-coming Neuhegi district of Winterthur. The lively new quarter, located very close to Neuhegi station, is not only an ideal place in which to both live and work but has great appeal on account of its abundance of greenery, play areas and car-free zones. Food shops, cafés and restaurants as well as a school and a kindergarten are all within walking distance. It takes about 15 minutes by bicycle or bus to reach Winterthur's historic centre. By train or car, Zurich and its airport (Kloten) are about 25 minutes away, as are the towns of Frauenfeld and Wil.

Top-quality architecture and wide variety of apartments
The master plan for the quarter, in which Haus Weiler as well as other schemes are to be realised, entered into legal force in September 2013. A design competition was then held, from which the architectural office BDE Architekten of Winterthur emerged as the winner. The project now comprises 80 modern apartments for private ownership and boasting exceptional room heights, about 40% of which are designed as 3½ and 4½-room flats. The remaining units are 2½ and 5½-room apartments. The future occupants of the residential complex will be able to enjoy a secluded inner courtyard offering space for communal activities, relaxation and games.

Prospective buyers and other persons interested in gaining an overview of the project can consult the website www.haus-weiler.ch. They can also register there if they wish to be informed about the commencement of sales.
