Topping-out ceremony at the Gloggeguet residential complex

Today Steiner Investment Foundation (SIF) as client and the “total” (design & build) contractor Steiner AG held a topping-out ceremony for the attractive Gloggeguet residential development in the Herblingen district of Schaffhausen. Developed by Steiner AG, the project takes the form of an open ensemble surrounding the existing historic farmhouse. It comprises five new blocks containing 27 rental and 71 privately owned apartments.

Construction work began in 2018, and the basic structure of the new buildings has now been completed. At the ceremony, both the client and Steiner AG thanked their partners for the fruitful cooperation. The development will be completed and handed over to the owners by spring 2021.

High quality of life thanks to spacious surroundings
The apartments, which will comprise between 2.5 and 5.5 rooms and range in size from 65 m2 to 131 m2, are geared to the mid-price demand segment – including both families and single-person households. The buildings will be heated by climate-friendly borehole heat pumps. The provision of an amenities room plus spacious grounds will help to promote a community spirit.

The new-build rental and owner-occupied apartments are clustered around the original farmhouse, enabling the surrounding parkland to become an attractive recreational area. In this project, Steiner AG is converting the original 16th-century farmhouse into a daycare centre, thus providing a further attraction for families.

Ideal access to the transport network
All the new apartments will be directly connected to an underground garage containing 136 parking spaces. A bus stop is also located directly in front of the development. In this family-friendly neighbourhood, you can walk to kindergartens, a primary school and various shopping facilities in a few minutes. Schaffhausen railway station is located around three kilometres away from the residential development. A motorway junction and the Herblingen S-Bahn station are just one kilometre away, giving easy access to Winterthur and Zurich as well.
