Foundation stone laid for the MANUFAKT8048 business park in Zurich

A ceremony was held today to lay the foundation stone for the impressive MANUFAKT8048 business complex. It was attended by representatives of the client, Swisscanto Investment Foundation, and the developer and executing ‘total’ (i.e. design-and-build) contractor Steiner AG, as well as by the architects and other project partners. This innovative project entails the construction, by the end of 2021, of some 14,500 m² of prestigious commercial and office units close to the Zurich-Altstetten rail station that will be tailored to the needs of a variety of organisations and companies. 
 
Today’s ceremony marks the official launch of construction work on the attractive MANUFAKT8048 business park in Zurich's up-and-coming Altstetten district. The future tenants will be able to configure the layouts of their premises in line with their specific needs and transform the available rooms (which are up to 4.5 m high) into production units, offices, laboratories or showrooms. The building is also equipped with modern and highly functional amenities. An atrium will serve as an inner courtyard and form the heart and hub of the property. 
 
Tailored workplaces in an up-and-coming district of Zurich
Zurich-Altstetten is a city district centred on the rail station of the same name. This area, which has the biggest population of Zurich’s city districts, boasts a wide range of catering, retail and leisure opportunities. With its attractive location and excellent transport links, MANUFAKT8048 offers ideal working conditions. The six-storey business park will provide companies with a clear framework in which to plan their long-term future and prepare the way for business success.
 
Building as a statement
Designed by Theo Hotz Partner Architekten, the business park will feature large glazed areas, and the highly visible use of industrial materials such as steel, fair-faced concrete and seamless industrial flooring will give it a distinctive character. Tenants will enjoy a wealth of options in configuring the interior according to their wishes; further expansion and customisation in keeping with their specific needs are also possible.
