The topping-out ceremony for the second phase of the Wohnpark Schloss Allmendingen residential park takes place today in the village of Allmendingen bei Bern. The overall scheme, developed by design-and-build contractor Steiner AG in partnership with Büro B Architekten, is idyllically set in immediate proximity to Schloss Allmendingen. It combines distinctive architecture with generously designed living environments. Construction work is scheduled for completion by spring 2016.
Steiner AG today joins partners, architects, contractors, homebuyers and representatives of the municipality in celebrating the topping-out of the second phase of the Wohnpark Schloss Allmendingen residential development. The now completed structural works for the second phase, which comprises three residential villas containing 20 condominium units, started in September 2014. Distinctive architecture, spacious floorplans and high-grade interior finishings await the future owners. The design team made every effort to ensure that the architecture blends harmoniously with its surroundings (the parkland surrounding the Schloss as well as the adjoining village).
Residential villas in parkland setting
The architectural concept was devised by the distinguished Berne-based practice Büro B Architekten in collaboration with the landowner. The project design was then developed up to ready-to-build stage by Steiner AG. The new buildings, like the three first-phase blocks, are grouped around an internal courtyard. Emulating the neighboring Schloss (manor house) and surrounding parkland, the development includes rows of sizeable young trees that match the existing stands. As the subdivision of the building volumes into separate dwelling units is indiscernible from the outside, the composition creates the impression of three large unified "villas". Thanks to their floor-to-ceiling windows, the open indoor spaces appear to merge with the outdoor surroundings. Seen from a distance, the facades evoke the structure of fully grown trees. The apartments are designed to comply with the latest energy standards. A basement parking lot located below the villas offers direct access to all the residential buildings. This minimizes disturbance by car traffic and ensures that future residents can properly enjoy the peace and quiet of the parkland setting.
Stylish living environment on Berne's doorstep
The municipality of Allmendingen bei Bern has a population of around 500 and can be reached by public transport from downtown Berne in just under 20 minutes. The first development phase comprised 21 spaciously designed 3.5- to 6.5-room apartments, which are already occupied. Of the 20 second-phase apartments, 17 have already been sold or reserved. At present, two 3.5-room units and one 4.5-room apartment are still available.
